Author’s Aspirations

The author aspires to be a role model for young people and a guide to help them find resources for education and funding through their communities. The author has learned that success is not a direct measure of accomplishments but a measure of the present state of mind. The author wants to educate and inspire children and young adults by sparking their interest in the world of science, technology, engineering, and math. The author believes it is important to introduce the complexity of life in the simplest of ways for the overall well-being of society.

The author has worked as a laboratory technician in next-generation sequencing and engineering technician in molecular diagnostics in the biotechnology industry. The author enjoys nature walks and reading scientific research articles while sharing them with family and friends. The author received a bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology and is continuing higher education at the College of Natural Sciences in California State University, Chico.

The author dedicates time and efforts to studying the effects of toxic chemicals in the environment and how they affect public health. Particularly, working towards understanding the importance of water quality and the substances/chemicals that may affect blood formation in zebrafish.

The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.
